VA Offers New Programs and Services

The Department of Veterans Affairs announces several new programs and services available. Topics range from the women Veterans healthcare call center, to the childcare pilot program and payments for caregivers

VA Services for Women Veterans

In June, VA’s Women Veterans Call Center started to contact women Vets to educate them on VA health care and gender-specific services available at VA facilities. Women's Healthcare Initiative.

Pilot Program: Drop-in Childcare Service Centers

Drop-in services are offered free to veterans who are eligible for VA care and visiting a facility for an appointment. Childcare intiative announcement

Stipends for Family Caregivers

The Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers program provides training for family caregivers. Family caregivers will receive an average $1,600 in monthly stipend payments and other benefits.

New Law Exempts Disabled Veterans from Property Tax

Are you a homeowner and disabled veteran? Do you know a neighbor, friend or family member who is a disabled veteran and who owns his or her own home? Veterans who are 100% disabled or unemployable as determined by the US Department of Veterans Affairs may qualify to receive a total exemption for property taxes.
