Travis County Probate Court
In place of December’s First Friday CLE
The Probate Court's CLE that was originally scheduled for December 6, 2013 has been cancelled. We expect the Supreme Court to issue its final rules for e-filing around December 12th or 13th, and we will prepare information for the Bar shortly after the final rules are issued.
In place of the CLE, see the following options that may help as we all prepare for changes coming on January 1st.
Join the Travis County Clerks at the EFSP Fair to Learn More about E-Filing
The EFSP Fair is an opportunity for the County Clerk’s customers to meet with representatives of the approved Electronic Filing Service Providers and the Travis County Clerk’s Office to learn more about the new system in Texas for e-filing documents in civil and probate cases.
Wednesday, Dec 11, 2013
10 AM – Noon
Travis County Clerk's Office
Elections Training Room
5501 Airport Blvd.
Austin, TX 78751
E-filing is mandated for attorneys, effective January 1, 2014, in civil and probate cases in Travis and other populous counties. For some of the clerk's customers, this will be a new experience. For customers who are already e-filing, there are a few changes to learn about.
Presentations will be at the beginning of the EFSP Fair, but feel free to visit at any time during the Fair. The clerk's office will have people available to answer your questions.
Check out the TexFile website for training and information
See the TexFile website – http://www.texfile.com – for information and training regarding e-filing. Go to the TexFile Training tab and select "Upcoming Training" or "Training Videos and Documentation." They both have information regarding training. See also the "Get Started" tab. (Note that TexFile is being "rebranded" as eFileTexas.Gov. On or about December 9, 2013, www.texfile.com will automatically redirect to www.efiletexas.gov.)
Watch for information to be posted by the Travis County Probate Court
As long as the Supreme Court issues final e-filing rules in time, the Court will distribute on December 16th or 17th information about both e-filing and a few of the changes coming with the new Estates Code. The information will be posted on the Court's website and will be distributed to the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Austin Bar Association. Please do not contact the Court for information until it's posted.
