  • serves as the primary point of contact for governmental and intergovernmental organizations with which the county conducts business (e.g., the Texas Legislature, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization [CAMPO], the Capital Area Council of Governments [CAPCOG])
  • creates, cultivates and executes the county, state, and federal legislative agendas
  • serves as a conduit for the Commissioners Court and the county departments, and
  • works closely with county staff, legislative consultants and legislators to ensure that Travis County’s legislative agenda is communicated in an accurate, effective and professional manner.

The Intergovernmental Relations office was established by the Commissioners Court effective October 1, 2008. The Intergovernmental Relations Coordinator works directly for the Commissioners Court under the general direction of the County Judge.
