Our Mission
Our organization strives to optimize self-sufficiency for families and individuals in safe and healthy communities. We work to achieve those goals by providing services either directly or through private and not-for-profit agencies.
Services
We direct our efforts towards a broad spectrum of goals including the prevention of homelessness, domestic violence, communicable diseases and injuries from falls.
Other services we provide include:
- Management of the county’s rural transportation program (CARTS),
- Emergency assistance for basic household needs,
- Home weatherization,
- Services for the deaf and hard of hearing.
- Veterans Services
- Agricultural Extension Services
Travis County Health and Human Services & Veterans Service creates alliances and partnerships with diverse health and human service organizations.
We identify opportunities for coordinating services and the leveraging of resources that can be used to ensure mandated services are available and that disparities experienced by some groups in our communities are addressed.
