Food Pantry can be accessed once every 30 days by residents of Travis County. An application  needs to be completed once a year to get a food pantry. Food offered varies from week to week depending on availability. Please bring your own grocery bags with you to help us be green when you come for a food pantry.

Jonestown Food Pantry Hours:
Mondays: 12 noon – 5 pm
Tuesdays: 8 am – 5 pm
Wednesdays: 8 am – 5 pm
Thursdays: 8 am – 5 pm
Fridays: 8 am – 5 pm

Faxing for clients can be done on an as needed basis, and as staffing permits.

Our lobby contains a computer and phone for client use. The computer is set up so that you can easily apply for our services or SNAP benefits. Please check in at the front desk.

Assistance with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applications available by appointment only, 512-854-1500. Applicants must bring required documents, which can be found on the USDA-FNS website.  We also have a computer for client use during business hours M-F, 8am -5pm.  This can be used to apply for benefits or research other resources.  Paper applications for SNAP are also available at the front desk.

Legal Aid Clinics are available to low-income individuals who wish to apply for legal aid services through Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid and Volunteer Legal Services (VLS). No criminal or immigration matters accepted. Clinics are available on the last Thursday of the month, by appointment only 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm Please call the Jonestown Community Center at (512) 854-1500 to schedule the appointment.

Hill Country Ministries provides fresh foods on the second Friday of every month from 9:00 am-11:00 am in front of our building.

Social Work Services

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays our partner agency Meals on Wheels and More provides a place for older adults to gather for games (bingo, dominoes, cards), conversation and a shared nutritious lunchtime meal.

Congregate Meal sites are FREE for everyone and open to ANYONE age 60 or over! There is no charge for the meal, but a donation can be made to Meals on Wheels and More if the participants want to do so. Come share good conversation, fun games and a meal with us. We'll be looking forward to your company. WE LOVE SEEING NEW FACES! Contact the Senior Lunch Program Manager at (512) 854-1505 to sign up.

The Travis County Community Center in Jonestown has a meeting area that can be reserved by community groups (see last paragraph for examples). Space is available on a first come first served basis and can be used by groups that meet the following criteria:

• No religious or political functions
• No private parties
• No charge or fee for attendees of any event held at the Community Center
• Groups reserving the meeting area must have a community focus or benefit and cannot be for-profit
• Events at the Community Center must be open to the public

Please contact us at the main number (512) 854-1500 if you have a request or question. Examples of groups that use our Meeting area include 12 step groups, neighborhood associations, and public information and education meetings.

Austin Public Health provides free health screenings the last Monday of the month, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, no appointment necessary. For more information contact Tammy Walker, RN (512) 972-5186.

• New Hygiene items are always needed for our clients, and are distributed along with food to those seeking assistance. Below are some examples of frequently requested items:
