Travis County
District Clerk
Attention: Notice of New Fees
Effective January 1st, 2010
| Amalia Rodriguez-Mendoza |
Travis County Courthouse |
The district clerk is the office of record for all proceedings heard in district court. This includes the most serious personal injury, contract, real estate, and consumer lawsuits; all divorces, child support and custody cases; as well as tax collection cases. In Travis County, it also includes appeals from nearly all state administrative agencies.
Records of felony cases are kept in the district clerk's office along with a handful of misdemeanor cases. Note: these records are not currently available on-line.
Deputies of the clerk carry out the decision of the courts by issuing writs, abstracts of judgements, preparation of warrants, or commitment documents in criminal matters. Finally, the district clerk coordinates all jury matters for the county and the city of Austin.
