Amendments to the Federal Clean Water Act prohibit discharge of any pollutant to navigable waters of the United States from a point source authorized by a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program permit. - December 1990 -
NPDES Phase I Rules for storm water discharges adopted by EPA for largest urbanized areas under Clean Water Act. - September 14, 1998 -
EPA authorized Texas to develop and implement the alternative Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) program. - December 8, 1999 -
NPDES Phase II Rules for storm water discharges adopted by EPA for small urbanized areas, which includes Travis County. - 2001 -
Travis County TNR Environmental Project Manager assigned full-time to perform Pre-Permit Activities and develop SWMP plan for Phase II. - March 10, 2003 -
