The Travis County Sheriff's Office has moved from the Criminal Justice Center (Gault Building) to the Keith George Ruiz Building, 5555 Airport Blvd.The administrative offices and Central Command, which includes Major Crimes Detectives, Internal Affairs, Sex Offender Registration, Intelligence Unit and Sheriff's Personnel Office, will be making the move.
The Central Warrants and Central Records Office will remain at the Criminal Justice Complex. All telephone numbers will remain the same. Patrol, Dispatch and Jail Operations are not affected with this move.
The sheriff's department enforces laws, protects the life and property of Travis County residents, and provides safe, secure, and humane confinement of inmates.
The law enforcement division provides patrol and criminal investigations. Special operations include boat patrol, crime prevention, dispatch, reserves, response team, and the training academy.
The county's prison population is housed in three major facilities: Central Booking, the Travis County Jail, and the Travis County Correctional Complex in Del Valle.
