The Travis County Department of Records Management and Communications Resources(RMCR) has launched a new website: Travis County Archives.
The Archives is a division of the RMCR department of Travis County. The mission of the Travis County Archives is to serve the government and the community of Travis County by documenting, preserving, and making available its records and history.
The Travis County Archives seeks to document the functions and activities of the Travis County government, support the conduct of the government by preserving and providing access to essential county records, and maintain the history of the county and its community through the preservation of records with historical value.
Records Management & Communication Resources (RMCR) provides the following services...
- public law libraries,
- the TCTV channel 17 television station,
- a public information booth in the courthouse,
- county operator assistance,
- internal print and mail services,
- internal copier and office equipment repair,
- imaging, storage, and destruction of county records, and
- coordination of the county's policy manual.
The information booth handles telephone and in-person inquiries for county office locations, phone numbers, and basic information on county services. They also provide notary services.

The county's law library makes legal research materials and forms with instructions available to the public. Law librarians may not offer legal advice, but can direct members of the public to appropriate resources.

TCTV Channel 17 provides county residents with television access to commissioners court meetings as well as informative county programs.
