Housing Services Programs

There are four programs available to those who qualify.  These programs are designed to encourage and support self-sufficiency, reduce health and energy cost, and meet Housing Services quality standards.

Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The LIHEAP program, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, focuses on improving a home's energy efficiency.

Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)

The CEAP Program provides services to repair, replace or retrofit inefficient heating and cooling appliances to help clients achieve energy self sufficiency.

Austin Energy Free Weatherization Program

Austin Energy's Power Saver Program's weatherization service provides materials and installation of attic insulation, duct repair and sealing, plumbing caulking, weather stripping, and solar screens to qualified home owners and renters. The power Saver Program also includes loans, rebates, and programmable thermostats and refrigerator/freezer recycling.

Home Repair Services

Travs County's home repair services address immediate threats to health and safety including emergency repairs and handicap access measures. These issues must be addressed before any energy efficiency services can be completed.
