Financial hardship
If jury service would be a financial hardship for you, Texas law allows you to talk to the judge and attorneys about your situation when you get to court for jury selection. The judge will let you know the right time to come forward and discuss your situation, and the judge will inform you whether or not you are excused.
The law does not allow the staff in the Jury Office to excuse you for financial hardship.
