Travis State Jail Monthly Resource Fair
Purpose
- The purpose of the resource fair is to provide information on transitional services such as housing assistance, education, counseling services, employment opportunities and career training to inmates 10-15 days before they are released back into the Austin/Travis County community.
- Our goal is to provide these individuals with as many resources available to them in order for them to make a successful reintegration back in to our community.
Who
- The Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Center staff and the Travis County Criminal Justice Planning Division welcome all community service providers to participate in this effort to better our community.
- Participants are given an opportunity to talk about their program/services followed by meeting one-on-one with interested inmates. Providers are expected to bring brochures or literature about their services
When
- The resource fair is h eld the last Friday of the month from 9:00-10:30 a.m., unless it falls on a Holiday then the Fair will be held on the prior Friday.
- TDCJ staff ask that each attendee arrive before 9 a.m.

Rules
- Your name must be on the RSVP list in order to gain entrance to the facility.
- Attendees must provide a picture I.D.
- Professional dress code enforced – no open toed shoes.
- All personal items, purses, cell phones, beepers, etc. should be locked in your vehicle.

If you are unable to attend the Resource Fairs we encourage you to provide
our office with brochures or literature about your agency so that we can provide
as many resources within our community as possible.
