The 167th District Court
The Jury
In a felony case the jury consists of 12 Travis
County citizens selected
by the trial attorneys from a panel of 50-60 who are assigned at random
to a particular trial by the jury office of the district clerk. Every person
accused of a felony offense in Texas has the right to a jury trial on both
the question of innocence or guilt and punishment. This is one of a number
of the defendant's rights.
