Board of Managers of Central Health
The Travis County Commissioners Court and the Austin City Council seek applications from qualified individuals to serve on the Board of Managers of Central Health (the Travis County Healthcare District). The term of the joint City - County appointee to the Board of Managers will run until December 31, 2016.
Central Health creates access to healthcare for those who need it most. The Board of Managers consists of nine community leaders who serve in a voluntary capacity. The Board of Managers has a broad and varied background, including community and social service, medical care, private business, government and law. The Austin City Council and the Travis County Commissioners Court each appoint four board members. The governmental bodies jointly appoint the ninth member; this is the current vacancy. Board members serve four-year appointments.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply by completing an application form and a notarized conflict of interest statement. If they are selected, they will also have to complete a financial disclosure statement for the County each year. The deadline for applications is Friday, February 22, 2013.
