Travis County Public Works FTP Site

Following the link below you can use "tnrguest" for the user name and "Tnrguest1" for the password. When logged in you will be in "globalSCAPE," with the area on the left showing your local directories and on the right will be the folders and files on our FTP site. Open the 2006_LIDAR folder and copy the topographic files you need to your local work station or network.

These files are MicroStation (dgn) files, and if needed, MicroStation offers this free CADD File Viewer and the Required Prerequisite Pack (both executable files) which can be downloaded via the two links below and then installed on your local workstation.

Travis County Index for 2006 LIDAR Topography - link to full size pdf

Using the same grid as the City of Austin's 2006 Aerial Photography, identify the file names you want to download (shaded areas only) from the Index Map. The file names begin with the USGS 7.5' Quad Sheet name and then the NW, NE, SW or SE quadrant, with the quadrants further broken down into sixteenths, A1 through A4, B1 through B4, C1 through C4 and D1 through D4
 

 

Example

On the USGS MANOR Quad Sheet,
pictured to the right, the file named
"MANOR_NEA4.dgn" is located at
the intersection of  U.S. Hwy. 290 E.
and F.M. 973, just east of Manor.
