Community Development Block Grant
CDBG Investments & Projects

Due to Census population data, Travis County became eligible for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in 2006 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Over the last four years, Travis County has received over $3,612,717 dollars in Block Grant Assistance which focuses in the unincorporated areas of the county.

Travis County Commissioners Court has funded:

Over $1,473,000 to increase affordable housing through land acquisition and direct homeownership assistance,
$1,708,500 to support sustainable communities through infrastructure and homeowner repair and
$195,800 in social services.

Please note, as you review projects, that most projects funded in 2006 and 2007 were delayed due to an allocation error from HUD. The error impacted project implementation and still has some lingering effects over program years 2008 and 2009. As 2006 and 2007 projects are completed, remaining projects can come online.
